Kate Middleton opens up on ‘nerve-wracking’ hospital visits with her three kids and the ‘worry’ she feels as a parent | The Sun

THE Princess of Wales connected with a fellow mother over the “nervewracking” experience of taking a child to the hospital.

Last week, Kate opened a new day surgery unit at Evelina London Children's Hospital in London.

The Princess was seen walking the same route as the children visiting the centre and looked around the new rooms offering pre-surgery checks, operation theatres and recovering areas.

When she stopped by one of the pre-op cubicles, she spoke to family members inside receiving treatment and said: "It’s always nervewracking as a parent.

“I’ve taken mine into hospital for different things.

“You're always at least worried but you’ve got a great team (here)."

In the recovery area, Kate also met four-and-half-year-old Saya Stephenson, who was resting in bed after an operation that morning to remove excess skin from her ears.

Kate was photographed hugging Saya’s mum, Miwa Stephenson, who explained how anxious she had been about her daughter’s surgery.

Kate replied: "It's always a worry though for a parent. We have to keep our cool. It's so hard."

Kate and Prince William are parents to Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight and Prince Louis, five.

It comes after an insider told People how Kate brings “normality” to her children’s lives.

Kate grew up in the village of Bucklebury with her siblings Pippa Middleton and James Middleton, and she is using her experience to shape her children's upbringing.

The unnamed source said: “Coming from a different background, she appreciates the importance of having family time.

“She wasn’t brought up in that aristocratic setting where you see the children for a short time each day.”

Instead, Kate prioritises her children over her royal duties, for example, just last month, the Princess of Wales stayed behind whilst Prince William visited Singapore.

He explained: “Catherine is very sorry she can’t be her.

“She is helping George through his first set of major exams.”
