Terror suspect Daniel Khalife reportedly flaunted his £20,000 bank balance to a group of women on a Wetherspoons night out.
Khalife, 21, was arrested at around 11am this morning (Saturday, September 9) after fleeing HMP Wandsworth where he was awaiting trial for terror and Official Secrets Act charges.
But before his initial arrest earlier this year the ex-British Army soldier allegedly exhibited strange behaviour after he bragged about his riches to a pair of ladies he met at the discount pub chain last year.
One of the women, who wished to remain anonymous, told MailOnline Khalife sat with her and her friend for 30 minutes but the pals got up to leave after finding the ex-military man "weird".
She recalled: "Daniel approached us and asked if he could sit with us because his friend didn't have his ID.
"He told us he wasn't close with his family and was in the army and that's why he was out in our town.
"At one point, he was saying he had lots of money and he even showed us his bank account on his phone," she added, claiming it had about £20,000 in it.
The disturbed woman said she and her friend then decided to leave, but Khalife followed them outside.
"Then all of a sudden, he lifted me up off the ground… It wasn't for long, I think I just said 'put me down'," she continued.
The woman said they drove away but added Khalife was watching them.
She also posted a video to social media, captioned: "POV the lad who stalked you on a night out last year ends up being a suspected terrorist."
The news comes after police announced they had recaptured the runaway inmate, with the Met announcing today (Saturday, September 9) they had found him in the Chiswick area of southwest London.
"Metropolitan Police officers have arrested Daniel Khalife, who escaped from HMP Wandsworth on Wednesday 6 September," the Met said in an update today.
"Officers apprehended him just before 11:00hrs today, Saturday 9 September, in the Chiswick area, and he is currently in police custody.
"We would like to thank the public and media for their support throughout our investigation to locate Khalife and we will provide a further update on his arrest in due course."
The ex-soldier's escape came following accusations he had collected information, notes and documents which would be "useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism".
He also allegedly carried out a bomb hoax by leaving "three canisters with wires" on a desk at RAF Stafford on January 2, 2023.
Khalife, who was discharged from the Army earlier this year, appeared at the Old Bailey in late July where he denied the charges against him.
His trial is due to start at Woolwich Crown Court on November 13.
