Man ‘fighting for life’ after being buried alive following fall in huge hole

A man is currently fighting for his life after falling into a huge hole and becoming buried alive.

Paramedics in Queensland, Australia, were called to help 25-year-old Josh Taylor on Saturday (December 2). Josh reportedly fell into a hole head first and was buried in sand with desperate attempts to save him.

A witness called Nathan jumped in to help the rescue mission and spoke to 7 News. He claims the huge hole was dug to cook a whole pig in on a beach on Bribie Island, near Brisbane, Australia.

Nathan continued: “He stood up off the chair, the sand had given away a little bit underneath him. He stumbled back. He’d put his arms out to obviously to break the fall, he’s continued going down and knocked sand as he’s put his arms out. He was that deep in the hole that you could not see him, his feet, unless you were standing on top of the hole.”

As soon as the incident happened, a group of people rushed to Josh’s side to help get him out of the hole. “There were 15 fully grown men on the end of this rope and he still would not budge. That’s when the paramedic was like pull him this way. The suction gave way and he popped out.”

According to the Courier Mail, Josh was quickly taken away by paramedics to a local hospital. He is said to be in a critical condition due to the fall, but seems to have remained stable currently.

Nathan said Josh’s family rushed to the scene when they had heard what had happened. Nathan continued: “I realised someone was head first in a hole and I was just digging digging digging. When I first went up to the hole, I couldn’t even see his foot. That’s how deep it was.

“All of his family, were screaming at us, telling us to help, telling us to get rope so we could pull him out. It was pretty gruesome."

Nathan described Josh’s body to be breaking once they had set him free from the gruesome scene due to the pressure of the sand and fall. Further reports say it took around 45 minutes for his pulse to return and the hospital are now fighting for his life.
