Who is Dr James Greenwood?

Dr James Greenwood is a practicing animal vet, author and television presenter.

Originally from Yorkshire, James grew up with a passion for helping animals and this led into a career in veterinary medicine.

Throughout his career, James has treated a number of animals – from parrots to donkeys, dogs, horses and even a two-day old baby elephant.

As an author, James's first book, For the Love of Animals was published in July 2023.

What has Dr James Greenwood starred in?

Dr James Greenwood made his first appearance on screen as a contestant on the first series of The Great Pottery Throwdown on BBC Two.

It was during his time on the show that James gained popularity and went on to star in the BAFTA nominated CBBC children’s show The Pets Factor.

After a couple of stints on screen, James became the resident vet on BBC One’s Morning Live in 2020.

Aside from this, James has also starred in CBBC's Blue Peter, Top Class and The Dengineers.

Is Dr James Greenwood married?

As well as finding success both on and off screen, Dr James Greenwood has also been lucky in love.

In March 2023, Dr James Greenwood confirmed that he and his partner Mark were expecting a baby together.

The star accompanied the announcement post with a lengthy caption to celebrate the couple's wonderful news.

It also confirmed that they would be welcoming the child via a surrogate as he expressed his gratitude toward her and her family.

He wrote: "Having not been abroad together for nearly 4 years, it felt so perfect to be back in the sunny and snow capped French Alps this past week, to the place where we met almost 15 years ago.

"Made even more poignant – this time – as the last holiday we’ll have just us two … as we are completely thrilled to share with you that in a matter of weeks we shall be welcoming the sound of tiny feet into our lives – our wonderful and INCREDIBLE surrogate and her most beautiful family, who we love so very much, have become such a massive part of our lives and words cannot begin to express how lucky we feel right now.

"Shall keep you posted, and so here begins a whole new chapter …"

Then, in May 2023, James shared the wonderful news that he and his partner Mark have welcomed a baby boy via surrogate.

James shared a picture of Rachael – who carried their son – cradling the newborn as he and Mark posed happily either side.

He captioned the happy snap: "Here we go!!! We are all so thrilled and our hearts are bursting with joy.

"Introducing Oliver James Titterton-Greenwood, born 9.54 pm last night, 7.8 pounds.

"Baby and Dads all doing great, more importantly so is our incredible surrogate Rachael – the most incredible human being on this planet who has blown us all away with her phenomenal generosity and incredible strength.

"Our hearts are overflowing with joy. J&M Xxx."

How do I watch Fur Babies?

Much to the delight of fans, Dr James Greenwood is back on the box this winter starring in Channel 4's Fur Babies.

From mini mongrels to cute kittens and dinky chicks, the series will see vets James Greenwood and Bolu Eso welcome little litters and baby broods into the world.
