Corrie Lauren’s blackmailer ‘rumbled’ as fans ‘expose’ return of cobbles villain

Coronation Street star Lauren Bolton’s blackmailer has been ‘rumbled’ by fans – and AI thinks the same too.

The character, played by Cait Fitton, has caused trouble in Weatherfield ever since she arrived in November last year. And over on the cobbles this week, she has been up to no good.

After finding out about Ryan Connor’s saucy affair with Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan), blackmailed him. She threatened to expose their affair to Daisy’s husband-to-be Daniel Osbourne unless he paid her £1000.

However, in a shock twist, someone has been pestering Lauren for the money. The mystery blackmailer has been calling Lauren – and she even assured them that she has the cash and would deliver it to them later.

Now, fans reckon they have twigged who is forcing Lauren to blackmail Ryan and Daisy. And one theory could see Justin or her vile dad back on the cobbles.

Over on X, formerly known as Twitter, fans claimed Lauren could be related to Justin Rutherford (Andrew Still). As fans will recall the bad guy attempted to chuck a glass of acid at Daisy.

Luckily for Daisy, Ryan jumped in front of her and took the brunt of the attack which left him with devastating facial scars that he is still recovering from. Justin was eventually sent behind bars.

And viewers reckon he and Lauren could be in cahoots to blackmail Ryan and Daisy. The fan mused: “Do you reckon Lauren is related to Justin? And, Justin was on the phone?

“I haven’t read this anywhere, I’m just thinking, she doesn’t want to blackmail Ryan but when he’s in the room she’s committed to blackmailing him? Just seems odd,” the fan added.

Another shock theory is that Lauren is being pressured by none other than her dad Reece Bolton. He is currently in prison for his involvement in Griff’s extremist group.

Lauren has recently been trying to turn her life around. She bagged a job at Roy’s as well as her own flat. But fans reckon she could be needing the money to help her criminal dad escape prison.

Viewers have also pondered if Lauren could be in some sort of trouble with a loan shark. One fan penned: “Who is Lauren on the phone too? She's probably had a run in with the loan shark.” A second chimed in and penned: “I wonder if Lauren’s dealing with a loan shark…?”
