Simon Gregson has shared an emotional update with his followers about his eldest son and his dream career as a football player.
The Coronation Street actor took to Instagram to post a photo of his son, Alfie, sitting on a football outside whilst staring at his phone screen.
Simon penned: “My boy since 4 yrs old dreaming of playing football for a living plays for three teams trains every day and night and no one has seen him my heart breaks every day.” (sic)
Many of his 137K followers immediately flocked to the comments section to give Simon some support.
One fan replied: “Ian Wright wasn’t spotted until he was 21. Never give up hope.”

A second commented: “Feel the same as you. My lad is so talented age 17, plays for 2 teams, trains, runs, goes to gym to keep fitness levels up such a hard job to get scouted now a days. best of luck to your boy x.” (sic)
A third chimed in: “My Nephew was signed at 16 dropped at 18 he still plays semi pro. I think it’s hard for them especially so young x.” (sic)
A fourth said: “He’ll be recognised for his skills and talent, no doubt, until then I really hope he’s enjoying every second of the process. Cause that’s the part that matters Xx.”
