Strictly Come Dancing star Layton Williams took a brutal swipe at his professional dance partner Nikita Kuzmin as they discussed their impressive performance last weekend.

For Movie Week, the dancing duo performed a Viennese Waltz on the BBC One dance competition to There Are Worse Things I Could Do from the hit 1978 movie Grease.

During their show-stopping performance, the 29-year-old actor made history as the first male contestant to wear a skirt on the long-running ballroom competition.

But despite viewers falling in love with the emotional routine, their dance failed to impress the judges with the pair receiving their lowest score of the series so far.

However, the Bad Education star and his ballroom dance partner remained in high spirits despite their setback as they joined host Fleur East on the spin off show It Takes Two on Tuesday (October 10). As they sat down with the radio host on the sparkly sofa, she proudly announced that the West End star had been crowned the ‘Torso of the Week’ on the programme.

She revealed: “I’ve got something to lighten up the mood – an online magazine Layton, has named you ‘Torso of the Week’, so how are you gonna be using this torso this week then?” He replied, “Well, it’s being used – ish. I feel like with the Cha Cha Cha, your body is going one way and everything else is going the other way.”

It was at this point that the actor spotted his co-star's disappointment at missing out on the honour, as he cheekily added: "Don't be jelly because you're not 'Torso of the Week' by the way. Don't be jelly, don't be jelly!" Nikita was quick to hit back at the sneaky comment as he shared his surprise at the actor's impressive muscles.

He insisted: "Hold on, at the beginning of the series he was like, 'Just give me a couple of weeks and then you will see those abs shining out' and I said, 'There's no way you're gonna beat me'. And now he's 'Torso of the Week'."

Fleur chuckled: "I can't wait to see the torso giving us the Cha Cha Cha this week" which left the pair pondering over their costumes for their upcoming routine this weekend. Layton asked: "Are we serving body this week? Maybe we need to get it out now," he teased.

But it's not always been as glamorous as it seems in the Strictly wardrobe department after former Strictly star Jayde Adams shared her embarrassing wardrobe blunder while competing on the show last year. Loyal fans will remember the beloved comic was coupled up with professional dance partner Karen Hauer last year and famously gave a stellar performance on Movie Week.

The dynamic duo danced an impressive Cha Cha Cha inspired by the 1985 hit movie Flashdance. One year on, the blonde beauty has looked back on her performance and confessed that her costume was so tight it left her "crying" in pain.

She explained: "I was wearing a flexible corset that was way too small for me but the costume ladies wanted the outfit to look a certain way so I wore it. I shouldn’t have worn it, I didn’t need to. Comfort over everything always.

"Until about 40 mins before we danced – there was this elastic bit as well that went between my legs on my m**ge to hold the corset down. And I had to be cut out of it as it had started twisting, taking hold of my vulva lips and pubes. I cried. There are witnesses."

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One from 6.30pm with It Takes Two airing on weekdays on BBC Two from 6.30pm.
