BBC Strictly’s Bobby Brazier opens up on emotional night that sparked ‘Dianne split fears’
Strictly Come Dancing star Bobby Brazier has addressed the emotional weekend as he and professional dance partner Dianne Buswell both seemed close to tears during the latest live show on Saturday night, 14 October.
In the dance couple's appearance on It Takes Two today, 18 October, the duo were all smiles and excited to talk about what's next in the competition.
But before they did, presenter Janette Manrara was keen to put the reports about the pair to bed, amid worries that Australian star Dianne, 34, and her relationship with Joe Sugg was at risk.
After noting that Dianne "does like to look after you" to Bobby, Janette said: "You did look a little bit deflated."
Reflecting on the experience on Saturday's show, which saw the judges deliver a number of criticisms over the pair's performance, Bobby, 20, turned serious.
"I think it was less to do with the judges' comments," he began thoughtfully. "Because it was mostly really really good feedback," Janette offered, trying to encourage the young actor.
"Strictly is a journey and I think I was just very tired," Bobby explained. "I was glad to have done the Tango and put it behind me."
"Done, we're done," Janette joked, as Dianne also shared a smile.
As the pair were keen to move forward, the announcement that Bobby and Dianne have already been training for the Viennese Waltz this weekend gave them a sudden burst of energy.
Clearly giving the duo a very different experience, who are putting all their focus into the competition, the dance will be a smooth ballroom number and show some of Bobby's very different skills this week.
"This week has definitely been easier," Bobby enthused, and Dianne nodded in agreement. "We've been super happy this week!" the star declared excitedly.
Bobby went on to say that the dance has become his "favourite" in the competition so far, as he's managed to take to it "quicker" than any of the others.
It comes as Dianne and Bobby talked about how "emotional" last week had been on Saturday night's show.
"He has just been a massive rock this week, so thank you," a teary-eyed Dianne said, before her voice broke and she leant into Bobby's chest to give him a hug.
EastEnders star Bobby also appeared to be upset, as he told Claudia Winkleman: "Just emotional. It's been so so emotional all week."
