BBC Strictly viewers left fuming as Adam Thomas is booted off show: ‘It’s unfair!’

Adam Thomas became the sixth celeb voted off of this year's Strictly Come Dancing after he and his partner Luba Mushtuk faced off against Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington in the dreaded dance-off.

And while all four of the show's judges opted to save Angela over Adam, a number of fans have been left fuming at the results, with one claiming that Angela had 'Blackpool plot armour' as she used to present Come Dancing, which was filmed in Blackpool and was the inspiration for Strictly.

Posting to X, formerly Twitter, the fan wrote: "You can literally see Adam slowly realising that Angela Rippon has Blackpool Week Plot Armour and he will be going home no matter how this goes. #scd #strictly"

"Crazy they saved Angela. She literally made stumbled a bit. Adam deserved to go through. They really so play favourites #StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly" added another.

While a third fumed: "strictly is a fix. Angela needs to go. Constantly overmarked and glorified. Adam clearly won that dance off. #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing"

And a fourth penned: "Poor Adam… he didn't deserve to go. His dance was much harder and he performed it so well. Angela's waltz was dumbed down and she wasn't even in hold correctly. She's only being kept in because she is perceived to be a 'treasure'. #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing"

While fans may have been disappointed at the result, earlier this week body language expert Darren Stanton had predicted that Adam would be leaving the show.

Speaking on behalf of Roulette, Darren said: "I think we've seen Adam reach his time in terms of any more progress as a dancer."

He continued: "Even though he is popular with viewers and the audience, he has reached the heights of his ability to dance. They have a strong connection, there's no doubt about that.

"There’s a good level of chemistry and they have each other’s backs. But it feels like it's towards the end of their time. It could be that the viewers will have his back again, but physically, I sense he's going to struggle to pull through this time."

Several fans had also predicted that Adam would be one leaving the show this week, after he narrowly dodged elimination last week.

Writing on Reddit, one person said: "Rumba for Adam post a dance off? Yeah it’s not looking good," as a second wrote: "They want Adam to go next, don't they?”
