BBC Breakfast’s Sally Nugent ‘battered and bruised’ after Strictly Xmas special
First glimpse of Sally Nugent’s Christmas Strictly dance
BBC Breakfast viewers were treated to a first look at presenter Sally Nugent on the upcoming Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special this morning. While she looked elegant gliding across the floor with pro partner Graziano Di Prima, the presenter admitted that she had suffered for her art and was still in pain.
“It was quite a thing,” she told co-host Jon Kay, who was extremely impressed with the clip. “It’s like kind of a Strictly boot camp. But yeah it’s fine. I survived a bit battered and bruised but I’m OK. I think I’ve got the traditional Strictly sore rib injury,” she grimaced.
When Jon enquired if it was OK now, she admitted: “Not quite. I’m being brave I’m being very brave. Don’t make me laugh. Don’t anyone make me laugh. It hurts too much. But it was amazing and really gorgeous people to work with,” she smiled as she clutched her injured ribs.
Sally and Graziano will be dancing to the much-loved classic Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas which was originally sung by Judy Garland in Meet Me in St Louis. Sally looked stunning in a sequinned purple gown with her hair in an updo while Graziano complimented her outfit.
Her co-host Jon was among those in the studio to watch her perform. The Strictly Christmas special is always pre-recorded and the show was actually filmed on December 3 in Coventry.

The one-off episode will air on Christmas Day however, it looks as though the public won’t need to wait to find out the result as it seems as though the winner has already been leaked online.
Alongside Sally celebrity contestants Danny Cipriani, Keisha Buchanan, Tillie Amartey, Dan Snow, and Jamie Borthwick performed to impress the judges.
Unfortunately, the result has reportedly already been leaked online by the infamous Strictly mole, who managed to find out the result from a member of the audience.
They took to X, formerly known as Twitter to share the “early Christmas present” with fans. Express.co.uk has chosen not to reveal the winner.

Sally has previously admitted that the festive special appealed to her because there was “no pressure”. “I just loved the idea of doing Christmas because it felt like everybody is going to be happy, there’s no pressure, it doesn’t feel like it’s a competition to me,” she added.
“It feels like it’s a chance to have a laugh, and spread a little joy on my favourite day. It’s one of my favourite shows to watch on Christmas day anyway, so to be in it is incredible.”
“It’s not something I ever imagined I would do. I was always far too scared and too shy. That moment when we walk out, yes it’s scary but even just standing out there, even before we dance a step it’s a win.”
BBC Breakfast is on BBC One daily at 6am. The Strictly come Dancing Christmas special is on BBC One on Christmas Day at 4.40pm.
