BBC Breakfast underwent a presenter shake-up on Bank Holiday Monday (August 28) as Sally Nugent was missing from the studio.

Viewers are used to seeing Sally on their screens every morning as she normally hosts BBC Breakfast with her co-star Jon Kay.

But things were different at the start of this week as she was replaced by fellow BBC Breakfast presenter and royal correspondent Sarah Campbell.

It meant Jon and Sarah kick-started everybody's week with the latest headlines and chat from their brand new renovated BBC Breakfast studio in MediaCity, Salford.

Although it's not confirmed why Sally wasn't on the show, it's likely she could be enjoying a well-deserved break from the show given that it's a bank holiday weekend.

It comes after host Naga Munchetty got a shock when a dog jumped onto the sofa between her and Charlie Stayt.

The show took an unexpected turn on Saturday (August 28) when they welcomed a rescue dog, named Hugo, and Vicky Etherington from dog rescue called Apollo's Angels.

Hugo had patiently remained by Vicky's side at the start of the interview, but the adorable pointer dog adopted from Cyprus gradually moved towards Naga.

The presenter couldn't help but pet him during the interview while Vicky continued speaking.

Naga quipped: "This is Hugo, and he thinks he knows this is it."

And eventually, Hugo decided to leap onto Naga and sit between him and Charlie, who said: "There you go, he's going his own way."
