EXCLUSIVE: Belinda Carlisle looks unrecognizable, steps out with CANE
EXCLUSIVE: Belinda Carlisle, 65, steps out with a leopard-print CANE as she makes rare public outing – after revealing she has torn her quadricep
- Belinda, 65, rose to fame in the ’80s as the lead singer of The Go-Go’s
- She looked frail as she made her way to her car while using a cane
- The singer revealed she had torn her quadricep muscle in her thigh days earlier
Music icon Belinda Carlisle looked unrecognizable as she stepped out with a cane in West Hollywood on Monday.
The former lead singer of The Go-Go’s, 65, seemed frail as she exited a building and made her way to her car while leaning heavily on a leopard-print cane – certainly a vast difference from the woman who spent decades performing to sold-out crowds.
Photographers caught the Mad About You songstress using the walking stick to ensure that she didn’t put too much weight on her leg, one week after she revealed she had suffered from a gruesome thigh injury.
Belinda explained that she had ‘torn her quadricep’ on Instagram last week, while sharing a clip of herself doing physical therapy. She didn’t share any other details about how it happened.

In the latest outing, the former rocker dressed comfortably, donning loose, black denim pants and a similar colored V-neck sweater.
She accessorized the ensemble with a big black purse, which she held on her shoulder, strappy sandals, gold hoop earrings, and a series of bangle bracelets. The hitmaker kept her blonde locks pulled back in a ponytail.
The spotting came one week after Belinda revealed she had suffered from a gruesome thigh injury
She was accompanied by her husband, Morgan Mason, who stood protectively by her side, putting his arm up to ensure she made it safely to the waiting vehicle.
Belinda first opened up about the injury on October 20, writing on Instagram, ‘It’s been quite a decidedly unglamorous day.
‘I tore my quadricep and WOW… Physio everyday so I’ll be ready for YOU, Australia.’
The star is currently gearing up to continue her Decades Tour down under, which is set to kick off on November 14 and will conclude on December 2.
Belinda certainly looked very different from her Go-Go’s days. She co-founded the all-female band in 1978, and it went on to become one of the biggest rock groups of the ’80s.
Made up of Belinda, Jane Wiedlin, Charlotte Caffey, Kathy Valentine, and Gina Schock, The Go-Go’s released their debut album, Beauty and the Beat, in 1981, which earned the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks and is now certified double platinum.

Together, the band released three wildly popular albums – which contained a slew of chart-topping hits like We Got the Beat and Our Lips Are Sealed – before they broke up in 1985 so the women could focus on their solo careers.
After that, Belinda continued to make music on her own, dropping eight albums over the years.
Some of her biggest solo hits include Mad About You, I Get Weak, Circle in the Sand, Leave a Light On, and Heaven Is a Place on Earth.
She has also released a memoir, entitled Lips Unsealed, in 2010, and briefly dabbled in acting, starring in the movie Swing Shift alongside Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell in 1984.
To many fans’ delight, The Go-Go’s had a brief reconciliation in the early 2000s, dropping a new album together, called God Bless The Go-Go’s, and performing in their first concert together in decades later that year.

They reunited again in 2011, and embarked on a series of sold-out tours around the globe in the years that followed.
In 2020, they came together once again to release a new song, called Club Zero, to celebrate the release of a new documentary about the band, called The Go-Go’s.
After a series of concerts together throughout 2022, Belinda announced that the band had once again disbanded earlier this year.
She explained that they decided to ‘quit’ while they were at the ‘top,’ following their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
‘I think it’s done. I mean, everybody has gone on their way,’ she told E! News. ‘And there is something to be said, we got into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And there is something to be said for quitting at the top.’
