‘Irritated’ Meghan Markle’s ‘sulks at Prince Harry’ as he ‘ignores’ her at the Invictus Games, claims body language pro | The Sun

A CLIP has emerged of Meghan Markle seemingly being “ignored” by Prince Harry at the Invictus Games – and a body language expert has weighed in on the moment.

Last week, the Duchess of Sussex, 42, joined her husband at a reception for 1,600 athletes and their friends and family in Germany.

Hours after she arrived in Dusseldorf, Meghan was seen standing in the middle of Prince Harry and a female official who were chatting away.

As the woman leaned in to reply to Harry, Meghan was “cut off” and then appeared to display “inner irritation”, according to body language pro Judi James.

Analysing a clip of the moment, Judi told Fabulous: “Harry is in a much more serious mode and, seeming to have missed the fact his wife is talking to the woman, or trying to, he appears to commandeer the conversation, talking over her.

“Which leaves Meghan with a truncated gesture, cut off mid-communication.

“She has the option of grinning and using eye contact on Harry to pretend she wasn’t planning to speak but instead she drops back out of the conversation, bringing both hands up to smooth both sides of her hair at once in what looks like a cut-off gesture as she dips her chin to change her expression. 

“When she comes back up she appears to have a lower jaw-jut going on.

“This is a gesture often associated with children sulking but in adults it’s often a sign of a clenching of the lower jaw, which can hint at some inner irritation.”

Judi said Meghan was “fortunately” handed a mic at this point which helped out of her “ignored” state, while Harry looked “oblivious” to what had occurred.

The body language pro added of the Duke of Sussex: “Harry looks oblivious here, standing pointing and gesticulating and constantly rubbing at his nose with his thumb in a very important-looking conversation with the woman and apparently not tuned in to his wife’s lack of inclusion as she was speaking.”

During the event, Meghan took to the stage and apologised to guests for being "a little late to the party".

The duchess explained she had to make milkshakes and get their children Archie, four, and daughter Lilibet, two, "settled down" before she could fly from LA.

Saturday marked the seventh and final day of the competition which has seen the couple gorge on traditional German feasts and show their support from the sidelines.
