Kirstie Allsopp addresses fans’ comments about her appearance after TV return

Kirstie Allsopp took a swipe at her own recent television appearance on Love It or List It on Wednesday as she addressed the regular comments she receives from fans. The presenter revealed she tends to avoid watching herself on the television, but caught herself on the latest Channel 4 episode and seemingly didn’t like how she looked.

As the show aired, Kirstie, 52, shared with her 433,000 Twitter followers: “I never watch my own shows but can’t keep away from this one @LoveitListitUK @Channel4 #carers #family #love.” Kirstie followed up her post adding: “Well that was a bad hair day,” alongside an embarrassed face emoji.

In the episode Kirstie and her co-star Phil Spencer headed to Chippenham to see if they can help a family make a tough decision in the wake of a devastating loss. For the show, the presenter was seen in a variety of outfits including a smock dress emblazoned with patterns.

After tuning into the episode, the property expert took a further swipe at her appearance as she shared: “Every day someone says ‘oh you look younger/smaller/thinner in real life’ they mean it kindly, and frankly when watching the show they have a point! @LoveitListitUK @channel4.”

Many of her fans werw quick to share their thoughts on the post, as one wrote: You look great and you do a fab job. Just carry on being Kirsty,” while a second commented: “It wasn’t a bad hair day, Kirsty, but a bad weather day!!”(sic)

“You always look lovely. Merry Christmas,” added a third. Kirstie went on to respond to a fan who was intrigued about the ideas on the show. The viewer asked: “Are the designs for ‘Love It’ your idea?”

She replied: “We do have a lovely architect who ensures I’m not knocking the house down, but yes, I work really hard on figuring out what will provide the best solutions for our families, seeing through walls is my super power.”

During the show, Kirstie and Phil met couple Tim and Sonia and their daughter Ella who are torn about selling his childhood home, following the recent death of his mum. The three had moved in nine years ago to look after her and were now debating their next move.

While Tim and Ella are hoping to close a painful chapter and have a fresh start, Sonia wants to stay put. Towards the end of the episode, Kirstie grew emotional as she told the family they “deserve everything” they’ve given themselves after looking after his mum.

With the help of Kirstie and Phil, the family finally made their decision, which brought on tears amongst them all. After the episode aired, the former wrote: “So glad so many of you felt the same way we did about Tim, Sonia & Ella. @LoveitListitUK.”
