Friends star Matthew Perry dies aged 54

Jennifer Aniston revealed her late Friends co-star Matthew Perry was doing well just hours before his tragic death in October.

The actor’s sudden death sent shockwaves through Hollywood and fans across the world after he was found unresponsive in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home.

Among the tributes that poured in, Jennifer paid an emotional homage to the star as she took to social media and wrote: “Rest little brother. You always made my day.”

After she and her former castmates Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Courtney Cox, and Matt Le Blanc were photographed at Matthew’s funeral, Jennifer shared their last conversation.

During a Variety interview with her The Morning Show co-star Reece Witherspoon, the 54-year-old disclosed she and Matthew were texting on the morning of his death.

Jennifer stated: “As he said he’d love to be remembered. He was happy. He was healthy.

“He had quit smoking. He was getting in shape. He was happy —that’s all I know.”

She continued: “I was literally texting with him that morning, funny Matty. He was not in pain. He wasn’t struggling. He was happy.”

Although Matthew’s cause of death remains “deferred” local authorities said foul play was not suspected.

As many questioned his sobriety following his passing, the Rachel star revealed: “I want people to know he was really healthy, and getting healthy. He was on a pursuit.

“He worked so hard. He really was dealt a tough one. I miss him dearly. We all do. Boy, he made us laugh really hard.”

It was also said that Matthew was an active member of an Alcoholics Anonymous program and wanted to help others with their addiction.

A member of his AA program insisted: “Matty wasn’t drinking. He was a big part of our AA community.

He was attending meetings, speaking at meetings and was working with a handful of newcomers.

“He had a sponsor and was a sponsor. He seemed to be doing well,” they added to DailyMail.com.
