Coronation Street star Luke Delaney heartbroken as he shares tragic death of best pal
Coronation Street actor Luke Delaney, who plays Dave Fairchild in the soap, has shared the heartbreaking news that his best pal has passed away, leaving him heartbroken.
The actor has said that he would "give everything" for just one more training session with his friend Neil.
Luke shared a photo of him and Neil on his Instagram account, as well as a funny video of Neil holding two pints and dancing around with a huge smile on his face.
Alongside that, he wrote: ""Babe, I’ve got some sad news……it’s your friend, Neil”
"The first words I heard this morning. And I just knew. How is it that in that moment, we know?
"But in the moments leading up to it, you can have absolutely no idea what someone is going through."
He then continued to share his grief, writing: "I know you had your demons.
"But I don’t think I was ever in a room with you where you weren’t smiling, being a joker & making people laugh.
"I’d give everything for one more training session. To come down from my hotel room post-show and see that smile and 2 pints waiting.
"To give you a hug and tell you how much you were loved. I’m going to miss you, big bro. I hope you’ve found your peace."
The comments section of the heartbreaking post was quickly full of tributes to Neil.
One person commented: "Remember the good times bruv. We had a more father-son relationship. The world seems a pretty quiet place today."
Another added: "This is so so sad, big man always smiling always joking looked like a proper lad in these photos.
"It is unbelievably tragic what these young men are going through I want to change the stigma of male mental health this is heartbreaking, happening so many times sadly in male friendship groups.
"Sending love and condolences to you too you, and the family and friendship groups. Only ever a message away, big man."
Someone else wrote: "So sad and such a shame. Let’s hope he is at peace now."
A third person penned: "What!! This has come as a massive shock… was good mates with Neil back in the day! So sorry to hear this mate."
Luke joined the cast of Corrie in 2022, as part of a storyline which saw Max Turner get groomed by a group of extremists.
However, that is not his first job on a soap, as throughout his career, he has also starred in Emmerdale and Hollyoaks.
