A Place in the Sun viewers confused as Home Under The Hammer star appears
A Place in the Sun: Couple offer 190k for house
While watching Friday’s episode of A Place in the Sun, fans of the show were left confused to see Homes Under The Hammer star Lucy Alexander hosting the Channel 4 show. Viewers are used to seeing Lucy, 53, on the BBC One property show and so were left surprised to see her switching channels to front the lifestyle series.
Fans rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their confusion about the television presenter’s appearance on the episode in question. One confused viewer wrote: “Is this the homes under the hammer woman!? I’ve just been sat here like hang on a minute… #aplaceinthesun.” (sic)
Another person asked: “Who’s this presenter – never seen her on #aplaceinthesun before.” A third added: “Lucy thinks she back on Homes Under The Hammer, all this talk of alterations #aplaceinthesun.” (sic)
A fourth fan said: “I like Lucy and her enthusiasm to see the best in everything, just as she did in Homes Under The Hammer. I fear her energy is going to be wasted on these 2. I don’t want to hear any more about the boxes he wants to tick #APlaceInTheSun.” (sic)
The official A Place In The Sun Instagram page previously teased Lucy’s appearance on the show with a post for their 48,400 followers to see.

Alongside a picture of the television personality, they wrote: “Join Lucy for a dose of sunshine in today’s new episode as she helps Antonia and Ross find their dream holiday home on the beautiful island of Ibiza. Watch on Channel 4 at 4pm today.”
Lucy starred on Homes Under The Hammer from its first series in 2003, alongside her co-host Martin Roberts.
In 2016, the BBC announced that she had stepped down from her role after 13 years, but Lucy clarified she would still be on the show for a few more years as the show is filmed well in advance.
After her last appearance on-screen, she was replaced by BBC Scotland’s Martel Maxwell, who took over the hosting reigns for the 21st series of the hit show. The property expert has also starred on Channel 4’s Best of Both Worlds and BBC’s The Customer Is Always Right.
