Dramatic moment Ukrainian drone blasts Russian tank to smithereens
Ukrainian drone causes mini turret toss on Russian BMP-3

Dramatic footage shows the moment a Russian tank is destroyed by a Ukrainian drone.
The unverified video, uploaded to Reddit, appears to show a Ukrainian drone hurtling towards a Russian BMP-3 as it drives along a field.
The drone then strikes the infantry vehicle, causing plumes of smoke to billow out.
Moments later, the tank explodes, sending its turret flying into the sky.
As the tank’s debris rains down over the field, it appears to set off a number of mini explosives.

It comes after Ukraine hailed a major victory in its grinding months-long counteroffensive.
Ukraine has breached Russia’s first and main line of defence on the Zaporizhzhia front, according to a top general.
Tank traps, dug-in trenches and thousands of mines have stymied Ukraine’s advance along southern front but progress is afoot.
Kyiv’s forces have breached Russia’s main defence, according to Brig Gen Oleksandr Tarnavskiy.
He estimated that Russia committed 60 percent of its defensive efforts to the first line of defence – and a breakthrough would be crucial for Ukraine as its troops push towards the Black Sea.
“In the centre of the offensive, we are now completing the destruction of enemy units that provide cover for the retreat of Russian troops behind their second defensive line,” Mr Tarnavskiy said.
While Russian troops were able to “pick off” Ukrainian forces bogged down in minefields and tank traps, this may no longer be the case.
The general added that his Russian counterparts have been forced to redeploy troops from elsewhere in the east and west to reinforce the defensive line.

“The enemy is pulling up reserves, not only from Ukraine but also from Russia. But sooner or later, the Russians will run out of all the best soldiers. This will give us an impetus to attack more and faster,” Mr Tarnavskiy said, adding: “Everything is ahead of us.”
Victory for Ukraine is far from assured, however.
Kyiv’s effort to reclaim Russian-occupied territory has produced minimal gains and heavy losses, and time is running short for Ukrainian troops, who must try to make the most of the last few weeks of the summer fighting season.
The Ukrainian military now considers battles in the northeast, specifically near the town of Kupiansk, in the northern Kharkiv region, and in the forests near Lyman, to be Russia’s main offensive.
