Strictly training is ‘torture’ and leaves toenails hanging off, reveals pro ahead of new series | The Sun

A STRICTLY Come Dancing star has revealed that the training is "torture" and leaves toenails hanging off ahead of the new series coming soon.

Every Saturday, BBC fans tune in to see their favourite dancers compete on the dance floor, whirling, flipping, and flinging each other around.

But have you ever wondered how much effort goes into those dance sequences that seem to fly by?

Well…

A number of Strictly pro's have lifted the lid on the blood, sweat and tears it takes to make these performances so entertaining for us.

It seems that it's not all glitz and glam because these dancers work their buts off, or their toenails off according to Karen Hauer

She shared: “There’s never a day that you wake up and you don’t have aches and pains. I lose toenails like Tic Tacs.”

Nancy Xu also admitted: "In the rehearsal room, I sometimes find it torture – in a good way."

There's no doubt that the job is demanding and requires a lot of hard work – as well as a lot of sacrifices.

“You’d be better asking how many hours in a week we’re not dancing,” Nikita Kuzmin, another pro said.

She continued: “If you take out the sleeping time, it’s probably like five hours not dancing. And I’m definitely dancing in my dreams.”

It comes after Strictly Come Dancing’s grand finale date appeared to have been leaked after a blunder by a star.

The BBC One celebrity dancing show will return this month for a three month run to crown the next Ballroom champion.

And the leaks have started early this year with the apparent date of the grand finale being let slip.

Strictly’s live audience warm-up entertainer Lee Peart is returning to hype up the audience watching in the studio each week.

And he excitedly shared a picture of his security pass ahead of the show’s return.

“It’s back,” he wrote, alongside a picture of his new pass.

Eagle-eyed fans will have noticed the expiry date and what that could mean for the show.
