MAFS groom George sparks fan backlash after making ‘sexist’ comments
MAFS: Preview of new episode with new couples
One of the contestants on the latest series of Married At First Sight has sparked fan backlash after he made “sexist” comments about his new bride.
The E4 reality dating show, which sees singletons meet their partner for the very first time when they walk down the aisle to get married, returned for its eighth series this week.
However, fans of the show did not take kindly to one of the grooms.
The first contestant to walk down the aisle in this series was Peggy, a 32-year-old technology risk partner from Kent. She had hoped to find someone who could look after her.
Peggy was paired up with her new husband George, a 30-year-old sports rehabilitator from Surrey, who admitted that he can “have no filter”.

Even the show’s expert encouraged him to “unpack the bravado” before walking down the aisle, but his reaction to his bride showed that he hadn’t taken this feedback on board.
Throughout the episode, George was apparently only focused on the looks of his bride-to-be.
Ahead of his wedding day, he declared to his groomsmen that he was worried about whether or not the woman that he would meet at the altar would be part of the “itty bitty t**y committee”.
He then shared his desire to be paired with someone with a pair of “melons” or “mommy milkers.”

Even his groomsmen could be seen outwardly cringing at the words that were leaving their friend’s mouth. All the while, Peggy was completely unaware of the remarks that George had made and appeared to be happy to find that she had been matched with him.
Viewers, on the other hand, were not as pleased as they watched George fixate on his bride’s cleavage as she walked down the aisle. They took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts.
One fan said: “George is a walking red flag, why are his boys not actually putting him in check pls??? One of my least fave grooms yet #MAFSUK.” (sic)
A second added: “#MAFSUK George!! It’s a no from me! And the rest of woman kind!!! He is disgusting!!” (sic)
A third agreed: “The way George speaks about women is absolutely vile #MAFSUK”
While a fourth commented: “George is gross. In the current climate are we really giving air time to little boys who think it’s funny to talk about women like this? #MAFSUK”
And a third said: “Jesus. There’s the real George Sexist *check* #MAFSUK” (sic)
Another viewer concluded: “They have done Peggy dirty… She deserves way better than George. A misogynistic, deluded, walking red flag #MAFSUK” (sic)
However, one fan took a more considerate approach to George: “The way George is acting is definitely a cover up for his insecurities. #MAFSUK”
Fans will need to tune in to see whether or not Peggy and George are as compatible as the experts believe they are.
