Emmerdale confirms iconic actress has quit the ITV soap after 25 years
Emmerdale's Samantha Giles says she misses stage acting
Samantha Giles has announced that she will be leaving Emmerdale 25 years after she first joined the ITV show.
The actress, best known for her role as Bernice Blackstock, will be swapping the screen for the stage later this year.
It was reported earlier this year that Samantha has reportedly quit the soap for a fourth time since 1998.
A source told The Sun in July: “Bernice Blackstock has been in and out of Emmerdale village more than they change the barrels at The Woolpack.
“She’s always welcomed back with open arms by ITV and fans alike, but it’s now becoming a bit of a running joke.”

However, Samantha has now confirmed her soap exit after appearing on This Morning today.
Speaking to Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, she admitted that she has called time on the ITV show for good.
“I haven’t been able to kind of confirm it, really, until now. I am going. I think my last episode is 14th November, the final episode,” she shared.
She also revealed that she is set to join an upcoming production of Cinderella.
Playing the role of the Wicked Stepmother, Samantha will be in the festive production at Bradford’s Alhambra Theatre.

She admitted: “I am beyond excited to be playing the wicked stepmother in Cinderella at the Bradford Alhambra Theatre.
“I’m really looking forward to working with Billy Pearce, the absolute king of panto, and the Alhambra itself is such a beautiful theatre that I have long wished to work at.”
Some of Samantha’s most memorable storylines as Bernice include four marriages, postnatal depression and finding herself in a coma after she had botox.
Other iconic moments include Bernice being held hostage in the Woolpack in 2013 by Cameron Murray and being handcuffed to a bed by someone she met on online.
