The only clue at the time was a pair of cufflinks he was wearing and fans have been obsessively following the cufflinks as they have switched from man to man across the Square. In recent scenes, the theory exploded as Alfie Moon (Shane Ritchie) was revealed to be selling the same style cufflinks.
The dodgy wheeler dealer had an entire briefcase full of the cufflinks and decided to sell them with Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick). which now means that any man could be a potential victim – taking the big clue of the cufflinks off the table altogether and it’s safe to say fans have been left gobsmacked.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: "OMG. The cufflinks! Anyone on the whole square could have them now. Multiple anyones even! All thanks to Alfie Moon of course. Well played EastEnders, well played." Another added: "#Cufflinks Xmas clue totally blown up well done @bbceastenders writers!.
A third person wrote: "Eastenders playing blinder with the cufflinks clue now being every bloke on the square." A fourth social media user typed: "Love the cufflinks reference, that’s thrown a spanner in the works." Someone else agreed: "Very good curve ball this. Very well played. Could be anyone including someone not on the list."
Sharon Watts, Denise Fox, Stacey Slater, Kathy Beale, Linda Carter and Suki Panesar were exposed as the potential Christmas Day killer in the flashforward episode but producer Chris Clenshaw has revealed one major detail about The Six that was almost completely different. One of the standout features about the six women is there outfits, with each person assigned a different colour to match their character.
With it being her wedding day, Sharon was in white as Suki was given the colour blue. Stacey can be seen in a bold red dress while Kathy opted for a purple ensemble. Meanwhile Linda wore her statement pink and Denise donned a green outfit.
After admitting the prep for this festive period started more than 18 months ago, Chris revealed: "At one point there was an idea that they were all going to be in different shades of red. But then it just didn't feel right for various reasons. So we went for individual colours that suit their characters."
