Coronation Street star ‘confirms’ next Rovers Return owner after blunder
Corrie: Maria is told that the Rovers Return Inn is being sold
Coronation Street’s Claire Sweeney may have accidentally revealed the identity of who will be the landlord of the Rovers Return when it reopens.
Earlier this year, fans of the ITV soap saw the Weatherfield boozer get taken over by Waterfords after Jenny Connor (played by Sally Ann Matthews) struggled to keep it afloat.
However, with the new ownership, both Jenny and the other staff were all let go without hardly any notice.
Since then, viewers have seen the iconic establishment closed as it undergoes a major refurbishment as a new era begins.
Although it’s not yet known when the Cobbles’ pub will reopen, actress Claire may have let slip who will be the landlord when it opens its doors once again.

The actress, who plays new addition Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Plumer, shared a snap on her Instagram when eagle-eyed viewers noticed a certain name.
Posing with her Dancing on Ice partner Colin Grafton on-set, the duo were beaming as they stood outside of the Rovers Return.
Captioning the image: “The wait is over… Team Claire & Colin is here #dancingonice #coronationstreet.”
However, it didn’t go amiss that the name above the doors was no other than Jennifer Connor, who was the last landlady before it was taken over.

Commenting on the image, one eagle-eyed fan @rosemarypadgett asked: “Is Jenny the new landlady?! Her name is above the door.”
Speaking about the iconic establishment on the cobbles, boss Iain MacLeod teased the doors may be re-opening sooner than fans think.
He told The Mirror: “It’s not going to stay closed for that long. In fact, it reopens on New Year’s Eve.
“But, the interesting thing is that the circumstances of it becoming open again are all tied up with Stephen’s legacy.
“Somebody will do something that is at best, naughty, at worst, slightly criminal to get their hands on the keys to the pub and reopen it.
“So it will reopen, but the reopening of it will be based on this slightly shaky foundation of a criminal act.”
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
