Strictly’s Nadiya Bychkova pictured being consoled by boyfriend Kai Widdrington
Strictly Come Dancing's Nadiya Bychkova was consoled by her co-star boyfriend Kai Widdrington after they left the Pride of Britain awards together.
Nadiya, 34, appeared to have broken down in tears as her 28 year old boyfriend wrapped a comforting arm around her as she looked to be sobbing on his shoulder.
He was also seen clutching her hand as they drove away from the Pride of Britain awards, which was held at Grosvenor House in London.
The pair had appeared in better spirits earlier on in the evening as they posed together on the red carpet.
Nadiya looked stunning in a pale blue sequinned gown, which featured a form-fitting bodice and a flowing skirt with a daring thigh-split.
Kai looked dapper in a grey suit and a dark grey tie worn over a white shirt.
They also took a moment to pose with TV journalist Angela Rippon, 78, who is currently starring on Strictly Come Dancing alongside Kai, who is her pro partner.
Angela looked sensational in a blue satin wrap-over top, which she paired with a long white skirt.
Nadiya was reportedly left 'upset' after she wasn't paired with a celebrity partner on this year's Strictly.
The Ukrainian, 34, originally joined the show's cast of ballroom professionals back in 2017, partnering up with broadcaster Dan Walker, football legend David James, popstars Matt Goss and Lee Ryan, and EastEnders actor Davood Ghadami over the years.
Reacting to the news that she's been sidelined for the upcoming 21st series, Dan, 46, wrote on the social platform X: "Strictly is such an amazing show and it’s almost time for the new series, what a great line-up this year.
"All the pros are great but gutted to hear that @nadiyabychkova hasn’t got a partner. I’m sure she’s still looking forward to being part of the biggest show on TV. But it feels like putting [Lionel] Messi on the bench for the World Cup final!"
Nadiya remains a part of the group dances, yet the lack of a starring role has gone down like a lead balloon amongst fans.
One said: "Not giving Nadiya a partner? Strictly, you’re dead to me this year" whilst another raged: "Shocking! She is immensely talented not to mention breathtaking."
Meanwhile, a Strictly insider told The Sun: "She’s terribly upset and so confused as her star wasn’t just rising, it was soaring. If she has done anything wrong, she has no idea what it is as she’s always dedicated herself to Strictly.
"Of course, she understands that among the dance troupe there are always more dancers than there are pairings. So it’s a little bit like rotating players in a football team. But many viewers will be wondering why someone who’s widely regarded as a striker ends up sitting on the subs' bench when they have so much to offer the squad."
