Channel 4 fans all say the same thing about Sam Heughan’s new drama

Channel 4 fans have given their verdict on the new thriller series, The Couple Next Door, and it’s safe to say that it’s been given heaps of praise.

The six-part drama stars Sam Heughan, who shot to fame after appearing in the historical TV drama Outlander.

It also stars Poldark’s Eleanor Tomlinson, Harry Potter’s Alfred Enoch, and Arrow’s Jessica De Gouw.

The plot focuses on Evie (Eleanor) and her partner Pete (Alfred) moving into their new home and striking a close friendship with their neighbours Becka (Jessica) and Danny (Sam).

However, as the two couples grow increasingly closer, things don’t appear as they seem and a series of complicated events unfold.

Channel 4 viewers have had their say on social media, with plenty of positive reviews so far.

One fan said on X: “I watched #TheCoupleNextDoor until 2am, my night was short but it was worth it!!!! magnificent series and exceptional actors @Channel4 @SamHeughan.”

Another chimed in: “Finished watching #TheCoupleNextDoor. I really really liked it. I really liked the last three episodes in particular. I thought Sam was incredible.”

A third typed: “One episode left of #TheCoupleNextDoor It’s phenomenal, Sam is brilliant, the whole cast is amazing, and the story! As it unfolds, everything turns upside down and every character surprises you.”

However, not everyone was a fan of the show, as many questioned why they didn’t keep Sam’s Scottish accent.

One person complained: “Why could they not leave Sam Heughan’s accent alone #thecouplenextdoor.”

Another asked: “Is that his accent?”

A third commented: “Sam Heughan doing a Yorkshire accent tho.” (sic)

A fourth said: “Why on earth didn’t they keep Sam Heughan’s proper accent? The fake Yorkshire is excruciating!#TheCoupleNextDoor.”
