Britney Spears’ childhood gift to Jamie Lynn could be vital for I’m A Celebrity
Christina Aguilera on Britney Spears’ memoir
As Jamie Lynn Spears prepares to head into the I’m A Celebrity jungle, a childhood gift from her pop star sister may be pivotal in securing her victory and giving her an edge over her competitors.
In her 2022 autobiography, Things I Should Have Said, Jamie Lynn recalled a time when she and Britney were close as they would play in a “child-sized playhouse” the Toxic singer created in their backyard.
She wrote: “The playhouse was a replica of a house with a kitchen and living area.”
Inadvertently, this playhouse led to Jamie Lynn developing an obscure fascination with “frogs and insects”, which she’ll have plenty to deal with in the New South Wales jungle.
Jamie explained in her book: “I started to collect my specimens, put them in the playhouse, and create my own animal farm.
“By the time Britney returned from a Summer stint in New York, I had just about destroyed the playhouse.”
While the 32-year-old remembered it as one of the few times in their childhood that the Disney star was “cross” with her, she added: “Britney, who was prone to hold grudges with others, forgave me within days.”
The sisters first began growing apart during Britney’s conservatorship, with the Gimme More singer detailing the breakdown of their relationship in her bombshell memoir claiming her pleas to Jamie for help went unanswered.
Jamie Lynn is set to join a star-studded cast in the I’m A Celeb jungle where she’ll be rubbing shoulders with big names like Nigel Farage, Josie Gibson, Danielle Harold, Fred Sirieix, Sam Thomson, and Nella Rose.

A source told the Mirror that Jamie’s stint on the ITV show, shortly after being eliminated from another celebrity competition Dancing With The Stars, could be “interesting” if she does “spill the beans about her life and her family”.
Despite doing a number of media interviews and promotional items for I’m A Celebrity, Jamie has largely avoided mentioning her sister and Britney in turn hasn’t directly confronted the Zoey 101 star’s run for Queen of the Jungle.
However, the 41-year-old did share a cryptic quote by Ernest Hemingway on Instagram after Jamie Lynn’s role was announced saying: “All things truly wicked start from innocence.”
