George dubbed ‘next James Bond’ as French media gush over ‘self-assured’ prince

French media have fawned over a recent photograph of Prince George, describing the heir as a "budding James Bond".

The snap in question is this year's Wales family Christmas photo, which Prince William and Princess Kate shared on their Instagram account.

Taken in Windsor earlier this year by acclaimed photographer Josh Shinner, the black and white image shows the Prince and Princess of Wales and their brood – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five – dressed in similar casual-yet-smart outfits.

Since the image was made public, royal fans have been gushing over Will and Kate's eldest and future king for his debonair and charismatic look, and now the French media have also praised the young royal.

In particular, Le Figaro Madame columnist Chloe Friedmann described the boy as "self assured", a "budding James Bond" and an "apprentice gentleman" rather than a "naughty schoolboy".

She also noted how the heir to the throne no longer appeared to be a "diligent little boy, sometimes a rascal", but a "a serious pre-teen, nearly as tall as his mother".

Friedmann said: "The budding James Bond has opted for a relaxed posture. He thus appears with his hand in his pocket, in an open Ralph Lauren shirt and his hair impeccably styled.

"He seems, moreover, very self-assured, wonderfully mastering the art of the sideways glance. The elder Wales son has certainly just crossed a threshold."

The French journalist also noted the resemblance between George and his dad. She said: "Observing him like this, we say to ourselves that the little prince definitely takes after his father, quick to conquer the crowds."

Royal fans echoed this sentiment, pointing out how similar the young prince resembled Prince William, when Wills was George's age.
