I'm an interiors pro – people always forget to decorate a certain area, but it's such a cheap way to elevate your home | The Sun

AN interiors guru said you can transform your space into a holiday haven by addressing one often overlooked aspect of your home.

The tip garnered praise from homeowners who were ready to do the same.

The home styling, furniture, and décor accessories store Elements By Remedy (@elementsbyremedy) wanted to help their followers get in the holiday spirit.

They revealed one of their favorite ways to dress up any space.

“Holiday tip: decorate your lighting,” read the clip.

To do so, simply buy faux evergreen stems and berry ones.

Secure the stems to each other by tying a couple of decorative ribbons around them – the experts at the store chose to layer a brown houndstooth patterned one with a solid, velvet coffee-colored one.

Be sure to tie the ribbons in a bow so they look festive and chic.

Next, head towards your hanging pendant light and use a piece of jute twine to tie your leafy, ribbon adornment to the top of the light.

The designers made sure that the leaves and ribbons draped the lampshade in a uniform way, and repeated this on all the lights that hung over their kitchen island.

The hack – which only costs a few dollars to put together – transformed the kitchen into an elevated and sophisticated, yet fun and spirited, space.

They said it was an underrated approach to seasonal decorating.

“Decorating the lighting in your home is a simple touch that makes all the difference during the holidays,” the caption read.

“I put bows on our pendant lights above the island last year. So simple with a big impact,” another noted.
