Beloved Pennsylvania News Anchor’s Daughter Speaks Out After Death Ruled A Suicide

Emily Matson’s daughter is remembering her fondly.

One day after the beloved Erie News Now anchor tragically died after being struck by a train in Fairview Township, Pennsylvania, her daughter paid tribute to her on social media.

On Tuesday, Emily Onderko took to Facebook to share a sweet selfie with her late mother. The two posed with ear-to-ear grins as they stood on a sandy sandy beach in front of a gorgeous sunset. Emily captioned the pic:

“The most beautiful person I know, inside and out.”

How devastating… We can’t imagine what she must be going through right now.

An obituary for the late news anchor revealed that she also left behind police officer husband Ryan Onderko, with whom she also shared son Kyle and late daughter Kayla.

Lyell Cook, the Erie County Coroner told the New York Post on Tuesday that evidence suggesting Emily died by suicide was “unquestionable.” She was only 42.

Our hearts continue to be with her family and the Erie community during this unimaginable time.
