The family of the third husband of abused wife Penelope Jackson claim he took his own life after finding out of her affair with the man she would later murder.
Alan Warrender, a dad-of-four, was reportedly left devastated after learning of a secret affair his wife was having with David Jackson.
Mr Warrender turned to drink after finding out about their relationship and struggled to pay his debts when he died in 1993.
Jackson was sentenced to life in prison last month after stabbing Mr Jackson, 78, multiple times.
The 66-year-old also stabbed him while he tried to call for an ambulance to their home in Berrow, Somerset.
She killed her husband Jackson on her 68th birthday on February 13 this year.
The incident escalated following a row over a meal and Jackson told the murder trial she had suffered years of abuse by Mr Jackson.
Now an unnamed family member of the late Mr Warrender that Jackson’s affair “drove him to death.”
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the family member said: “After what she did to him and his family before she went on to murder her next husband, she should never be released from prison.

Mr Warrender met Jackson while they worked together at RAF St Athan in the Vale of Glamorgan in south Wales.
Jackson had recently left her second marriage to MoD employee Tony Rothwell, according to the Mirror.
Mr Warrender was still with his wife Beverley at the time and had two daughters and an adopted son.

Beverley reportedly found out about the affair just before she passed away from breast cancer, the relative said.
Jackson and Mr Warrender married in 1988 and had a daughter Isabelle two years later.
The couple fell into debt while Mr Warrender was away working in Saudi Arabia and returned to learn about his wife’s affair with then Colonel David Jackson.

An inquest ruled Mr Warrender’s death as suicide, which was caused by carbon monoxide poisoning.
Mr Jackson adopted Mr Warrender’s daughter Isabelle after marrying Jackson in 1996.
Speaking at her mum’s trial, Isabelle said: “From the moment when the police knocked on our door and told us what had happened, I had not only lost my dad but I had lost my mum too. My life was changed forever.”
