THE nation has been rocked by the sudden death of Sativa Transue as she enjoyed a holiday with her boyfriend.
The 26-year-old was allegedly killed by her partner Taylor Allen on November 27, 2021, during a Thanksgiving getaway in Mexico.
Who is Taylor Allen?
Taylor Allen is the boyfriend of the late Sativa Transue, 26.
Little information is known about the 31-year-old, but the couple are believed to have been together for around three years.
Court records show that Allen had previously been arrested for assault in the fourth degree in 2012.
The circumstances and outcome of that case are currently unclear.
A disused Instagram account that appears to belong to him includes posts of Allen and his family members, as well as an image of him and Sativa.
The caption to his final post in March 2020 reads: "Throwback to our adventure up diamond head state park, I love this woman @sativatransue".
Has he been arrested?
Allen was reportedly arrested by police in Cancun, Mexico.
It is unclear where and when he was taken into custody, but Cancun police shared a photo of him in their station wearing a hotel bathrobe on November 29, 2021.
Sativa's 21-year-old sister Mykayla said Allen "is in jail in Mexico".
She later added: "Taylor Allen has been charged with Femicide and is now in a Mexican prison awaiting a hearing for his sentence."
The case is still under investigation.
What happened to Sativa Transue in Mexico?
Sativa Transue had been enjoying a holiday with Allen over the Thanksgiving weekend when she was allegedly murdered.
The Washington native was tragically found dead by a maid inside her hotel room at the All Ritmo Resort in Cancun on November 27, 2021.
Allen allegedly beat her and threatened to jump off the four-story hotel balcony after witnesses said the two had gotten into a drunken argument.
Sativa reportedly texted her friends at around 1pm the day before she passed, saying she and Allen had consumed "seven shots and two Pina Coladas".
She then sent the same friends a row of messages hours later saying she got into a fight with Allen and needed stitches.
Her pals grew increasingly concerned when she stopped responding to their texts, leading them to call the police.
Sativa's mom, Jayme Bolieu, then received a call from the Mexican consulate the following day explaining that her daughter had been found dead.
In an interview with The Daily Beast, Bolieu said Sativa was found as if she had been "beaten to a bloody pulp".
The devastated mom claimed that Allen was "very emotionally abusive" towards her daughter and that he regularly checked her phone and computer.
