Snow latest:Trafalgar Square FREEZES as Britain hit by coldest February nights in 20 years

UK weather: Met Office forecasts snow and cold temperatures

Britain has been experiencing some of the coldest temperatures in decades across the country due to a freezing weather front. Dramatic video footage and images have begun to circulate on social media of frozen landmarks across the country, most notably Trafalgar Square’s fountain. Due to the brutally cold temperatures overnight, Londoners have woken up to the famed fountain being frozen solid, with icicles hanging from the sculptures. 

BBC Weather forecaster Matt Taylor warned that temperatures could fall further over the next few days due to an extreme wind chill.
