Seaside revellers celebrated the hot weather with a wild night out in Blackpool, staying out until the sun came up.

As crowds spilled out, some hot and bothered people appeared to be arguing barefoot on the pavements outside.

Others were shown grappling with security guards at a bar.

One woman caught a piggyback from a pal as the clock ticked past 5am in Blackpool.

Others appeared to slump to the ground after spending hours on the town.

The scenes were mirrored across the country as parts of the UK saw temperatures soar to 30C today.

And forecasters say the sweltering weather is set to continue for around another month .

The heatwave is expected to last throughout Wimbledon and stay for another two weeks after that, according to the Met Office.

Tuesday should be mostly dry with sunny spells, while Wednesday will be "very warm for all" – with the risk of thundery showers in places.

Towards the end of the week, temperatures are set to stay well above average in many places.
