Real Housewives’ Meghan King Edmonds’ husband confirms he called cops to conduct welfare check on her and kids – The Sun

THE husband of Meghan King Edmonds has confirmed he called the police to conduct a welfare check on her and their children.

Jim Edmonds, who filed for divorce from the Real Housewives of Orange County star earlier this year, said he made the call over concerns about Meghan's ability to care for their baby sons and infant daughter.

Jim, 49, had been at their marital home watching 17-month-old twins Hart and Hayes and three-year-old Aspen when Meghan, 35, returned from drinks with friends.

Meghan had not driven herself home and the children were already in bed, People reported.

Jim was still at the house and Meghan was preparing to go to bed when police arrived.

Jim later confirmed he had called police before Meghan arrived back at the property.

Police reportedly questioned Meghan but concluded that she was capable of looking after the three children.

In a statement to People, Jim said: "I called the police before she came home to keep from having an incident.

"I was concerned. And there was no incident because of that.”

Sun Online has contacted Meghan's representatives for comment.

The news comes two weeks after Jim field for divorce amid reports he had had an affair with the couple's former nanny, Carly Wilson.

Both Jim and Wilson denied the reports.

In a lengthy post published on her website last week, Meghan said she caught Jim having a sexting affair with another woman while she was pregnant with Hayes and Hart.

"Out of respect for my children and my family, I find it unnecessary to go into all the gritty details," she wrote.

"What I will say is that, in the wake of the sexting situation, my husband was drinking and partying with much younger women, including several of our babysitters, and I found this galavanting inappropriate, immature, and downright odd.

"Even more so when he started lying about where he was going or who he was going with—and deleting entire text conversations on his phone with several of these young women.

"Anyone who has lived through infidelity knows how difficult it is to overcome and regain a strong marriage.

"It requires the betrayer to put in the time and effort to repair the trust that was broken.

"Sadly, that’s not what happened here."

Soon after Jim's infidelity was exposed, the pair found out that son Hart was suffering from a neurological condition known as Periventricular Leukomalacia (PVL).

A person with the condition has damaged and dead cells in the white matter at the top of their brain, which normally controls impulses and muscle control.

PVL is also one of the four main causes of celebral palsy.
