Queen spotted carrying sweet gift as she meets Prince Louis for first time

According to royal tradition, the Queen was one of the first people to be told about Prince Louis’s birth.

If they followed the rules, which they did with George, Prince William would have called his granny from the hospital to let her know The Firm had a new member.

However she only met her sixth great-grandchild for the first time yesterday, when she took her helicopter (as you do) for a quick trip from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle.

And like most people visiting newborn baby, she took a little present with her.

Believed to be for Kate Middleton, the Queen was carrying a beautiful bunch of handpicked yellow and white flowers

What a thoughtful idea.

It’s believed her visit was a double celebration, as not only did she get to meet her new great grandson, but she also got to wish his big sister Princess Charlotte a happy third birthday .

The Duke and Duchess welcomed baby Louis, who weighed 8lb 7oz, on April 23.

His arrival meant Princess Charlotte made history , as she became the first female royal to retain her right to the throne despite the birth of a new male.

Prince Louis is now back home at the family home in Kensington Palace.

Earlier this week the little royal’s birth certificate was made public , signed by his proud parents.

Under the job title section, it lists Kate and Wills as Prince and Princess of the United Kingdom.
