Putin’s troops told to ‘go f**k yourself’ after leaving Snake island

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence told Russian troops to 'go f*** themselves' after they withdrew from Snake Island.

In a defiant post on the ministry's official Twitter page, it was also claimed that Vladimir Putin's troops could not stand the hot weather on the tiny Black Sea island.

The tweet, posted on Thursday (June 30) morning, read: "Operational Command South confirms the Russian occupiers have left the Snake Island. They couldn’t stand the weather – the ground was burning under their feet, the sea was boiling, the air was too hot. PS: Russian warships go f…ck yourselves!"

Back in February, two Russian Navy warships attacked and captured the island, also known as Zmiinyi.

But the Kremlin's Ministry of Defence released a statement on Thursday announcing that Russian military forces had allegedly "completed their mission on the Zmiinyi (Snake) Island" and were withdrawing the garrison stationed there as "a gesture of good will".

That last term was also used when battle-weary troops were withdrawn from Kyiv and Chernihiv Oblasts after Ukrainian soldiers put up fierce resistance.

The Russians also argued that their gesture means Kyiv cannot now "speculate on the impossibility of exporting grain".

Ukrainians mocked the official line being spouted from Moscow, with the Pivden (South) Operational Command stating that the Russian army had hurriedly evacuated the remaining personnel of the garrison from Snake Island after Ukrainian forces launched attacks on it.

Putin, meanwhile, poked fun at Boris Johnson on Thursday (June 30), suggesting that it would be “disgusting” to see the British Prime Minister naked.

He was responding to jokes made at this week's G7 leaders summit where the PM asked if they should “take our clothes off” before a meeting began.

Johnson also said that we “have to show that we're tougher than Putin”.

Canadian premier Justin Trudeau also quipped that Western leaders should emulate the Kremlin leader’s naked torso pictures with a “bare-chested horseback riding display”.

Putin, 69, hit back during a summit in Tajikistan, body shaming his foes and telling reporters: “I don’t know exactly how far they wanted to get undressed, above or below the waist but I think, either way, it would be a disgusting sight.”
