Denver police on Sunday are investigating an early morning shooting that sent two victims to the hospital just as Lower Downtown’s bars were closing.
The incident occurred near 19th and Blake streets, the Denver Police Department said in a tweet posted at 2:15 a.m. The victims suffered “serious injuries” but their conditions were not available.
The latest closing time for Denver bars is 2 a.m. The shooting occurred a block from Coors Field. Several bystanders posted on Twitter that shots rang out as nearby sidewalks filled up with people heading home.
Police said the investigation was still underway and no further details were available as of 10 a.m. Sunday.
