Mum who shot and burned five kids was ‘obsessed with witchcraft and rituals’

A mum who shot and burned five kids was obsessed with witchcraft and performing rituals, it has been revealed.

Oreanna Myers took her own life after burning down her home, killing her kids and step-children.

The 25-year-old was responsible for the death of Kian, four, Aarikyle, three, and Haiken, one – and her stepchildren, Shaun, seven, and Riley, six, in the horrific incident that took place on December 8.

Myers had set fire to their five-bedroom house before fatally shooting herself in West Virginia.

The grief-stricken mum of Shaun and Riley spoke to The Sun and revealed Myers had been obsessed with witchcraft and planning rituals.

She also said Myers kept tarot cards, crystals and dead butterflies in jars.

Raven Bumgarner said: "She was into witchcraft, she would post things on her Facebook and Instagram.

"She was always talking about the phases of the moon and these rituals and tarot cards and different books and witchy things.

"She was like, 'Oh this moon is in this phase, this is a ritual for new beginnings, I'm going to go and run naked in the fields."

The devastated 27-year-old added her ex-husband Brian had been aware of Myers' obsessions.

She said she felt as if her soul had been "ripped out" after the horrific murders.

Myers' husband Brian Bumgarner said the aftermath of the tragedy was a "truly dark time" and urged his social media followers to “never leave someone in an argument", the Sun reports.

She had argued with her husband about his decision to live with relatives during the work week to alleviate transportation issues.

The 25-year-old's Instagram page, @glowing_goddess520 showcases her peculiar obsessions with pictures of dead insects in jars.

The caption says: "Made some insect jars. This a thing or just an Oreanna thing?"

In one post she wrote: "Fairies and flowers are my magical thing."

After the tragic incident, four letters written by Myers were found which included a confession.

She wrote to her family and said: "This is no one's fault but my own. My demons won over me.

"Sorry, I wasn't strong enough."

Greenbrier County Sheriff Bruce Sloan revealed her body was found with a red line drawn across her face.

Speaking to The Sun, Sheriff Sloan said Oreanna had a history of being involved in occult practices and contacting the dead.

However, he said he did not believe it was a ritual killing.
