Mum killed after 'young child accidentally puts car in gear and crushes her'

Kirsten Pearson, 28, died after suffering a fatal crush injury to her chest after the accident in Leesburg, Alabama, on Friday, according to a coroner.

The medical laboratory technician was rushed to hospital by helicopter in a bid to save her life, but her condition worsened en route and she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Kirsten's Facebook page shows her playing with her young son and spending time with her husband, Logan.

Her father Kevin Criswell took to social media to share a tribute to his daughter, saying he had endured "the worst day of my entire life".

The post reads: "Kirsten Pearson in the 28 years you were here with us you touched so many people's lives, you were a true angel the gift you left for your mother and I is so precious.



"I promise you with everything in me that i will take care of your son till my last breath Kirsten I love you with all my heart.

"Kirsten I know you are in heaven now and your looking down on us and watching over us just know Mom and Dad and your sissy love you …

"I WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN I PROMISE……..YOU ARE MY ANGEL …..BUDDIES FOR EVER …..THE LAST PHOTO IS ENTITLED…….ANGEL IN FLIGHT……LOVE YOU FOREVER…….."


Her mother Debbie added: "God be with me….I’ve lost my firstborn baby girl, my best friend , my rock…please give me the strength to carry on and be here for her son!!

"I can already feel her trying to hold me up, like she has done so many times before.

"I will never let my grandson down, Kirsten Pearson & he will always know what he meant to you!!

"I love you big!!"

Kirsten's funeral will take place on Wednesday according to her sister Madison.

Police are still investigating the circumstance surrounding the accident and more details have yet to emerge.
