Kate Middleton has been stepping up for the Royal Family as she continues to fill in as the lead female with the Queen restricted to light duties.
The Duchess of Cambridge takes centre-stage with the rest of the royals as she attends tonight's Royal Variety Performance, following on from praise heaped on her appearance at the Remembrance Day service.
Meanwhile, over in the United States, her sister-in-law Meghan Markle is the subject of a guest interview on Ellen DeGeneres’ TV show, snippets of which were released prior to tonight's broadcast.
With Meghan and Prince Harry stepping down from royal duties for US opportunities, Kate has appeared to step up and take on more responsibility in the family.
This has become more prominent with the absence of the Queen following her hospital stay and back sprain, which caused the 95-year-old to miss the service on Remembrance Sunday.
Kate’s rise to a more prominent role appeared following the death of Prince Philip when she stood strong for the family and even appeared to try to encourage conversation between Prince William and Prince Harry.

Kate was recently hailed by a royal expert as the "the most powerful person in the royal family".
Camilla Tominey, a journalist and broadcaster, told the Daily Express: "When it comes to their generation, you could say [Kate and Prince William] are ruling the royal roost."
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliam told the Daily Star that Kate looks a "future queen" in the making.

He said: "There is no question that, in her partnership with William and the way they carry out their royal duties, they are the foundations for the monarchy's future, along with their children.
"Catherine has long been famously fashionable, but recently there have been iconic images which have enshrined her natural beauty, At Prince Philip's Funeral she wore a black hat with black netting and a face mask and looked every inch a future queen."

Even some Palace staff are noticing a “change at the top” following the death of the Duke and Edinburgh, as reported by The Mirror.
A staff member previously told the publication: “It means she (Kate) will be even more front and centre, and what you’ve seen over the past year or two is that she definitely has grown in confidence in order to do that.
“With the Duke and Duchess of Sussex out of the picture, and never likely to return, one would think this is their time.

“At one stage they may have thought that they were being over-burdened but in reality they have a clear run.”
Meghan’s appearance on Ellen tonight will be her first solo talk show appearance and follows on from her tell-all Oprah Winfrey interview with Prince Harry.
It is expected that Meghan will talk about her journey as an actress but also give an update on family life, including their daughter Lilibet.

Gertrude Daly, a royal commentator and podcaster, believes the are ow looking out for themselves.
Daly told the Daily Star: "While the Cambridges have been stepping up and taking on more responsibility and duties over the years to support the Monarchy, the Sussexes choose to step back.
"The Sussexes are still committed to charitable work and serving others. But the Sussexes focus is no longer the Monarchy. For Prince Harry & Duchess Meghan, the Sussexes come first. With Meghan’s interview she thinking about herself, her family and the brand they are creating. She isn’t trying to support the monarchy with her work which I think is the big difference between Duchess Kate & Duchess Meghan’s work."
The interview is being broadcast tonight on NBC but is not available in the UK until Thursday 24 November at 2pm on ITV2 and the ITV Hub.
