A twisted pervert is on the loose after four dogs were raped at an animal shelter and left with horrific injuries and maggots.
The mixed-breed animals were found bleeding from their hind end following sick sexual assault.
Animal activists believe the rapes were filmed to be sold on the black market or dark web.
Examinations showed all of them were raped with a blunt object covered with thorns.
The canines were discovered by local animal activists at Astana Vetservis, a state animal shelter in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan on Sunday.
Volunteers from Stop Otlov non-government organisation told local media: ''We came to the shelter to treat animals for fleas and saw that four dogs were suffering from severe lacerations to genitalia.
"We took all of them to a clinic for treatment. They were scared and afraid of people.
"One of the dogs was badly bleeding and had maggots in its vulva. It had been infested after flies lay their eggs on its injuries.

"Vets removed the parasites and treated the wounds."
According to activists, experts said the dogs were raped with a blunt object covered with thorns.
The group said: “We believe perpetrators filmed the abuse to sell the video on the dark net.”

Organisation members filed a complaint and handed evidence of the horrific crime to law enforcement.
Police spokeswoman Elmira Shaulenova said: "A criminal case for animal cruelty has been initiated. We are looking into the circumstances."
The shelter's administration promised to find and punish those who committed the savagery.
A spokesperson for the facility said: "The incident is being investigated. Forensic examinations are underway. Those responsible will be punished."
According to Kazakh law, animal cruelty is an offence which carries a maximum penalty of 50 days in jail.
