Eagle County authorities search for missing rafter on Colorado River

Authorities in Eagle County are searching for a missing rafter, last seen Sunday as he was carried downstream on the Colorado River.

A second man was hospitalized after being rescued from the river near mile marker 6 on Colorado Rover Road, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook. The second individual was carried further downstream, authorities said.

The missing man was last seen wearing blue shorts, shoes and no shirt. A search team — including Vail Mountain Rescue, Gypsum Fire Protection District and the Greater Eagle Fire Protection District — continue the search Monday.
