It’s only natural to have cold feet before getting married, after all it’s a big commitment you’re making.
However the severity of those pre-wedding jitters can vary from person to person.
Some people might feel a little nauseous, while others may end up calling the whole thing off and crying in the corner.
One bride-to-be let nerves get the better of her and she ended up doing something very unexpected just five days before she was due to walk down the aisle.
The shocking story was shared on Reddit by someone who works in the wedding industry.
A woman named Jenny revealed that her good friend is a wedding planner and he was at the centre of this bizarre tale.
She starts by describing her friend as "a good looking straight male" and reveals that he has an amazing eye for detail.
"He can do everything from wedding dress design to execution, flowers, you name it," she said. "And his services are not cheap."
She continued: "He had a bride who called him up a few days before her wedding and told him she couldn’t go through with the wedding because she was in love with someone else."
The bride is said to have revealed that she didn’t love her fiancé anymore and instead thinks she may have fallen for with someone else.
Understandably her wedding planner is shocked and exclaims: "What do you mean you’re in love with someone else?! Your wedding is in five days!"
And in a plot twist we didn’t see coming, the woman then admits that it’s him she’s in love with – the wedding planner.
"You just get me," she explains. "I’ve never met anyone like you."
His reply is brutal but brilliant.
"Do you know how much your parents are paying me to get you?!"
Jenny ends the post by saying that thankfully the bride ended up getting married a few days later and the incident was never spoken of again.
Her fellow Reddit users thought the story was hilarious.
One person commented: "That’s an embarrassment of wealth if I’ve ever seen one."
Another said: "This is faaaantastic."
A third added: "Poor groom. Lol. Hope she doesn’t fall in love with a cabana boy on the honeymoon."
