Boy, 4, calls cops so he can show them his ‘cool’ toys – and they actually come

A four-year-old boy who snuck away from his dad while he was tending to his sibling called the police and asked them to come over and see his toys.

Police on New Zealand's South Island released the call on social media, saying it was "too cute not to share."

In the call, the little boy tells the operator he wants to show them his toys, and afterwards she puts a message out on the radio asking if any officers were available to go over.

An officer named only as Kurt responded and went to visit the child, reminding him the importance of only calling 111 in an emergency.

"Hi … police lady?" the unnamed boy says at the start of the call.

"Yes, what's going on?" the operator replies, to which the boy responds: "Can I tell you something?"

The 111 operator says: "You can tell me something."

After hesitating for a second, the boy reveals: "I've got some toys for you."

'Police lady' responds: "You've got some toys for me?"

"Yep. Come over and see them!" he says, then attempting to give his address before his dad takes the phone.

"Hello, we've received a 111 call. I'm guessing it was a mistake, a child making a mistake there?" the dispatcher said.

The dad said he was "helping out while his mother's sick" when the youngster snuck off and made the call.

"I was focusing on the other child and he snuck out," the father added.
