A 16-year-old boy who was stabbed to death has been described as "the kindest soul" by those who knew him.

Rayon Pennycook, 16, was found with fatal injuries in Corby, Northamptonshire on Tuesday.

Two paramedics in ambulance cars, two crewed ambulances, and the air ambulance were sent but despite their efforts, the victim died at the scene.

One witness claims the horror incident was filmed and has been posted on Snapchat, The Sun reports.

The person, who said her son had seen the video, wrote online: "I remember when Snapchat culture was for cheeky s***, now it’s used to pre-film a lead up to murder! If anyone has these videos step forward."

The victim’s girlfriend posted a tribute on Instagram on Tuesday night which reads: "Rest in peace to the love of my life, boyfriend, best friend, and protector.

"Today has been the worse day of my life watching your life with so much potential end right of front of my eyes.

"You had so much to look forward to in life and we were all so proud of you."

She went on: "You fought until the end, you were a warrior and had the biggest heart. I never knew what love was until I met you.

"You really treated me, loved me like no other, protected me, and most importantly had my back more than anyone else in this world.

"This is going to be the hardest thing I have ever done in my whole entire life but from you grew your wings partying with Jess, you will be guiding me through life.

"I’m sorry I couldn’t come with you, I’m going to protect all your family forever. I love you so much nisha until we meet again my angel."

Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: "He was a good boy and a wonderful young man from a lovely, hardworking family and as you can imagine they are absolutely inconsolable.

"This is so heartbreaking.

"Parents are not supposed to bury their children.

"May he RIP."

Another wrote: "Words cannot begin to describe how I've felt today.

"I kept every origami boat you made me, every note you wrote me on the back of a worksheet, I remember every time you saw me upset and said, 'Who was it miss, I'll bang them in their face'.

"I'll always miss you, RIP Rayon."

"You were the kindest soul anyone could wish to meet. Nobody deserves this," added a third person.

Northamptonshire Police said it was "determined to bring those responsible for his death to justice".

DCI Joe Banfield added: "This is an exceptionally sad and tragic incident in which a young boy with his whole life ahead of him has died and I want to reassure the public that we are absolutely determined to bring the people involved to justice.

"Arrests were promptly made last night and enquiries are continuing to move at a fast pace however I would still appeal for any witnesses or anyone with information who has not yet come forward, to please do so.

"Whilst we do believe that this was an isolated incident, high-visibility police patrols will be taking place in Corby today to reassure the local community and I would encourage anyone with concerns in the area to approach one of our officers who will be happy to help."

A force statement said: "Three males aged 17, 17 and 15, were arrested last night [Tuesday] on suspicion of murder in connection with the boy’s death and all three remain in police custody at this time."
