Body found in search for James McAdam, 19, who vanished on New Year’s Day
A body has been found on ground near Morecambe following the disappearance of a teenager on New Year’s Day.
James McAdam, from Carnforth, Lancashire, has not been seen since exiting a taxi in Morecambe at 6am on January 1, 2021, after attending a New Year’s Eve party.
The 19-year-old left the taxi but then did not make it home, with police and locals joining forces in their search for the teen.
On Saturday, January 2, police confirmed that a body had been found on land near Trimpell Sports and Social Club in Morecambe shortly after midday following the search.
The Mirror reports that formal identification has not yet taken place, but family of James have been notified.
Morecambe Area Police said: "Police searching for missing teenager James McAdam, 19, have sadly found a body.
"James has been missing since New Year’s Day.
"Officers found the body on land near Trimpell Sports and Social Club in Morecambe shortly after midday today (Saturday, January 2nd).

"Formal identification has not yet taken place.
"James’ family have been informed of the development and are being supported at this time.
