Adorable Dachshund stuns owner by ‘waving back’ at him in cute clip

They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but this beloved pooch has picked up the art of waving back at admirers.

A proud dog owner has shared the adorable moment where they taught their Dachshund how to “wave” – with heartwarming results.

Taking to video-sharing app TikTok, the overjoyed owner shared the cute moment with followers – with tens of thousands “liking” what they saw in a matter of minutes.

The uploader, named Kahlodaschshund, uploaded the clip which showed a sleepy-looking dog named Kahlo laying on its back while nestled on some comfortable looking white covers.

Kahlo was sandwiched between an Apple MacBook laptop and a blue top when the owner “waved” at the animal.

After a slight delay, the sleepy-looking dog then reciprocated the gesture by waving his little paw back at his stunned owner.

The dog owner was overjoyed by the interaction, and shared the clip along with the titled: “Omg he waved back.”

Kahlo seems to be quite popular on the Chinese-owned video sharing site.

Owner Heather, from Los Angeles, California, spoke more about her dog in an exclusive interview with Daily Star Online.

"She is so smart," she said. "She knows how to shake, down, stay, sit and boop! She is still in the process of learning to roll over."

"Every day she will bark or do a little growl at herself in the mirror! It is the cutest thing.

"She also is extremely food motivated and loves her breakfast, lunch and dinner. She jumps for joy when food is coming."
