The personal and professional worries of the fuzz are not merely side plots in this slick British cop-shop show, they form the basis of the drama. This fourth season wastes no time in setting up the prickly predicament awaiting boss lady, DCI Roz Huntley (Thandie Newton) when she returns to work after full-time parenting. Office politics were never so tensely exciting.


Double episode series final ***1/2 three and a half stars

9.30pm, SBS Viceland

The one thing that has been deliberately absent from this amusing French dystopian drama makes a last-ditched comeback. Clothing – why we wear it, how it makes us feel, the meanings it conveys – is explored when our defecting heroine joins the band of rebels hiding out in the forest. Meanwhile, the inner journeys of those submitting to the dictatorship continue to fascinate.

7.30pm, Ten

The great skill of Amanda Keller (pictured) is that she can insert herself into just about any situation, instantly make everyone comfortable, and pepper the proceedings with just enough banter to turn an interview into entertainment. Tonight she does exactly that with racing car driver Jamie Whincup, while elsewhere her colleagues cook chicken wings and frolic with sea lions.
