What is Mark Wright up to now?
Mark Wright has been filmed looking into his family tree as part of the 16th series of Who Do You Think You Are?
AFTER so many summers partying in Marbella – also known as Essex-on-Sea – Mark Wright was delighted to learn his ancestors hailed from his beloved Costa del Sol.
Mark also finds out his nine-time great-grandfather was a master swordsman from the Andalusia region of Spain.
The BBC One show airs TONIGHT (September 11) at 9pm.
How did Mark Wright become famous?
Mark Charles Edward Wright, 32, was born in Essex to Carol and Mark Wright Sr. on January 20, 1987.
Mark is a reality star, model, club promoter, TV presenter and radio DJ.
He is brother to Jess Wright and younger siblings Natalya and Josh Wright and shot to fame when he appeared in the first three series of The Only Way Is Essex as part of the original cast.
During his time on the show he was considered a ladies man, flitting between romances with Lauren Goodger, Sam Faiers and Lucy Mecklenburgh.
When did Mark Wright marry Michelle Keegan and do they have kids?
Mark began dating TV star Michelle Keegan in December 2012.
On September 9, 2013, they announced their engagement and they were married on May 24, 2015.
Due to their filming commitments on different sides of the Atlantic, the pair have to endure periods away from each other.
Michelle got her big break playing Tina McIntyre in Corrie between 2008 and 2014 before landing the lead role of Corporal Georgie Lane in BBC drama series Our Girl.
The couple don't have any kids yet but they have both admitted that they plan to start a family together in the future.
What has Mark Wright done since Towie?
Mark Wright took part in the 2011 series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
He was a runner-up on the jungle-based celebrity show, losing to McFly star Dougie Poynter.
Mark has also been a co-presenter on Take Me Out: The Gossip since 2012 and fronted several not-so-successful series.
They include; Mark Wright's Hollywood Nights, My Man Can (with Melanie Sykes) and Party Wright Around The World.
In 2014 he came fourth in Strictly Come Dancing, with partner Karen Hauer.
Mark landed the entertainment correspondent role on US showbiz programme, Extra, in 2017 – appearing alongside American co-star Mario Lopez.
But earlier in 2019 the former Towie star officially returned to the UK to live full-time with his wife Michelle Keegan.
Speaking of his departure to The Sun Online, he said: “I’m no longer living in LA. I was there for nearly two years and had the most amazing time.
“It just feels like the right time to come back to the UK and live here with my wife and family.
“I’ll always be grateful to the show Extra for the amazing opportunity they gave me.
“I loved my time at Extra and I love my bosses, who I’ve left on great terms with, so I look forward to working with them more in the future.”

He also has occasional presenting stints on This Morning.
Why did Mark Wright split from Lauren Goodger?
Mark was in a relationship with Towie co-star and radio presenter Mark Wright for 11 years.
They began dating at the age of 15 and the couple even got engaged on the show in 2011, but they split up just five months later.
Since then they have been less than pleasant with each other in the press so it doesn't look like they'll ever be on friendly terms again.
On June 11, 2017, Mark was forced to deny shocking claims made by Lauren that she believed he was dating her and now-wife Michelle Keegan at the same time.
Mark went on to date the likes of Lucy Mecklenburgh, Sam Faiers and Emily Atack after his split from Lauren.
While he was also briefly linked to Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts.
What is Soccer Aid?
Before making it to TV, Mark was a semi-professional footballer – starting his senior career with Southend United.
And now the footie ace is returning to his roots for the Soccer Aid fundraiser at Stamford Bridge in London.
Founded by Robbie Williams, Soccer Aid for Unicef has raised more than £30million for charity since it was founded over 12 years ago.
The funding goes towards making sure more children in impoverished countries can spend more time at play.
Usain Bolt, Westlife's Nicky Byrne and Brazilian footballing legend Roberto Carlos are among those on the time sheet for this Sunday's (June 16) tournament.
