Marsha Thomason, who plays DS Jenn Townsend, said: "I tell you who saw him and was beside himself was Will Oldfield, who plays one of the children from the family.

"It became a running thing for us because one day he'd seen him and couldn't stop talking about it.

"I'm going to admit I wouldn't know Tyson Fury if I fell on him, I have no idea.

"I know he's a big deal but I don't follow that sport and I live on the other side of the world.

"Will was so so excited and talked about it all day. He was so thrilled."

DI Tony Manning actor Dan Ryan added: "If you have breakfast at the Midland Hotel you will generally see him jogging with his entourage.

"We saw him one day by his personal gym. He had a few photos taken by his open-top Ferrari. I don't know if he likes the show or not."

Andrew Dowbiggin, who portrays the role of DS Jamie "Clarkie" Clarke, continued: "He liked the photos for the first 10 minutes but when there was 50 of us asking for pictures I think it soon wore thin."

Marsha has teased that viewers will see a "different side" to her character Jenn as she returns to the ITV show for a new case.

Morecambe Police’s Family Liaison Officer is working late as usual when an arson attack is reported in the first episode of series four.
